Cottage cheese is having a REAL moment right now and I absolutely love that! People have been using it in so many clever ways such as making a high protein pasta sauce and making overnight oats out of it.

I’ve been enjoying it so many different ways lately, but my favorite is HANDS DOWN whipped. Once whipped, the consistency is very similar to sour cream, and it can be used in so many different ways.
Today we’re going to make whipped cottage cheese, THREE different ways:

  1. Everything but the bagel seasoning whipped cottage cheese
  2. Buffalo whipped cottage cheese
  3. Avocado whipped cottage cheese

They’re all SO good and super simple to make.

3 different flavors of whipped cottage cheese in 3 different bowls: plain, avocado, and buffalo flavors. There are small bags of Dandy fresh celery in the corner of the shot

Ingredients we’re working with:

FIRST OF ALL:  let’s talk about the celery! Did you know that March is National Celery Month!? Me – but we do now! So, let’s celebrate! Dandy is actually hosting its annual National Celery Month promotion now through the end of March, so be sure to ENTER HERE for a chance to some deliciously great prizes! Did I mention that you have 14 CHANCES OF WINNING?!

Now on to the recipe…For the dip, you simply need cottage cheese and a little bit of salt and pepper. For making the buffalo flavor we’ll simply add a little buffalo sauce and for the avocado flavor we’ll just blend an avocado together with the cottage cheese.

SUPER SIMPLE! But I really love how versatile it is.

You can enjoy it either as a dip OR put the whipped cottage cheese on top of the celery sticks. I really like to put it on top so that I can snack at my desk without having to pay too much attention (I’m always multi-tasking over here!).

Making it is also very simple:

Simple add all of your ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until CREAMY! It takes mine about 2 full minutes to get all the lumps out, but the end result is silky smooth and so delicious (even all on its own).

From there, simply put it on top of your Dandy celery and add any desired toppings. I used everything but the bagel seasoning, some cheese on top of the buffalo flavor, and a little Pico de mayo Gallo on top of the avocado flavor.

Typically when I make it, I only make one flavor at a time, but you could also divide the cottage cheese and make different flavors all at once. I highly recommend this!

The dip also keeps well (except the avocado flavored one will turn brown a little). I made a big batch of this recently and put it in small containers that my partner could take to work as a simple snack to dip veggies into.

For the avocado flavor:

  • + 1 avocado
  • Optional for serving: Pico de Gallo

Instructions

For the everything but the bagel seasoning flavor/ plain:

  • In a food processor or high-powered blender, blend the cottage cheese until creamy and no chunks remain. About 1-2 minutes.
  • Divide the whipped cottage cheese evenly among the celery and sprinkle on everything but the bagel seasoning. ENJOY!

For the buffalo flavor:

  • In a food processor or high-powered blender, blend the cottage cheese and buffalo sauce together until creamy and no chunks remain.

Notes

  • Place any leftovers in an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to a week (the avocado flavor will likely only last a few days before really browning).
  • You can add a splash of lemon juice to the avocado flavored whipped cottage cheese to help it brown slower.
