Perfect Instant Pot Brussels Sprouts– these Brussels sprouts are SO easy to throw together in your pressure cooker and turn out delicious every single time!
PLEASE tell me that you’re a Brussels sprouts fan. I know they’re not for everyone but I happen to LOVE them and I’m excited to share this recipe with you! A few years ago I posted my all time favorite Garlic and sea salt brussels sprouts which is a recipe that Stephen came up with. He’s been making it for me for years and it’s super simple and SO GOOD!
Since I’m completely obsessed with my Instant Pot right now, I wanted a version of that recipe made in a pressure cooker. It turned out SO GOOD and I’m excited for you to try this!
Since we’re cooking these Brussels sprouts in the instant pot, they don’t turn out crispy at all (which is one of my favorite parts of the other recipe) but they’re still completely perfect and delicious!
What’s in these instant pot Brussels sprouts:
- halved brussels
- olive oil
- garlic
- salt and pepper
- broth of choice (I typically use veggie broth)
How to make Brussels Sprouts in the Instant Pot:
I love the flavor the sautéing the garlic brings out so we’ll start by heating up our oil directly in the instant pot and then adding in the garlic to sauté for a couple of minutes. Then the Brussels sprouts get added in and cooked just for about a minute.
Then we’ll stir in the salt, pepper, and broth before sealing the instant pot and setting it to cook on manual pressure for 3 minutes.
THAT’S IT! Perfect and tender Brussels sprouts that everyone will love!

I tried this recipe for 2 minutes – very mushy. But flavour good still. I would set for 0 or 1 minute if I try again.

I tried this with my insta pot and the brussel sprouts were like mush. What am I doing wrong? I set the Insta Pot on Pressure Cook for 3 min as directed in the recipe, and then when that was done, I did release of steam, opened it up and awful…like mush. I cooked mine though in the steamer basket I bought, is that maybe why??? Help!
I didn’t use the steamer basket and mine were very mushy too.

They taste great, but they came out mushy. What did I do wrong? Would you specify which setting to cook them on when you seal the Instant Pot? “Pressure Cook” on High?
This recipe is a definite keeper! The brussels were perfect.
Super delicious but my brussel sprouts got way over cooked at 3 minutes.

Seven out of eight reviews are bad (I hate mushy sprouts), plus the instructions say to use 1/2 cup of water and my 6-qt manual says to always use at least a whole cup. I won’t be trying.
This recipe for brussel sprouts is the most easy and delicious one I have ever had! It was my first time cooking fresh ones. My family just love them! I just can’t get over how easy and fast they are! No more frozen one’s for us!
Thank You

YUM! Thank you for this recipe- i saw brussels sprouts in the store today and then knew exactly what to do with them! These turned out great- I liked that there was a little bit of broth left at the end of the cooking time. My sprouts were a bit darker and more “done” than yours in the photo but I liked the softness and how they’d absorbed the broth. Super delicious, I’ll def make it again!

SO GOOD. I didn’t think they were mushy at all and I cooked them at 3 minuets. I guess if you want a more soft yet a little crunchy then cook it at 3 but if you like crunch cook it at 2.
It tasted wonderful!

Oh yes! This recipe will definitely make my son very happy! He loves brussel sprouts and I’m certain that he’s going to love this recipe. We’re having my son, daughter-in-law and 2 adult grandchildren over for dinner tonight night. I’m making these especially for him.
