Summer = peaches. Yes? So much yes. Perfectly ripe peaches are so sweet, fruity, and refreshing and so it seems only right to include them in an equally refreshing beverage.

Peach Iced Tea is my favorite new twist on classic iced tea. The flavor of peaches is a natural match for tea, and couldn’t be more seasonal.

Say hello to your new favorite poolside drink. I guarantee you’ll be sipping this baby all summer long!

Ingredient notes:

To mix up a batch of this homemade Peach Iced Tea recipe you’ll start by making the peach simple syrup. For this you’ll need:

  • Granulated Sugarsweetens the tea. Feel free to use raw cane sugar or honey instead.
  • Peaches flavors the tea with a great summery feel! Make sure to use fresh, ripe peaches!
  • Waterhelps the syrup dissolve and is the base of the tea.

Once the simple syrup is made, you can make the pitcher of iced tea. I opted for black tea because it’s classic in most iced tea recipes, but this Peach Iced Tea recipe would also be delicious with green tea! I used 1 bag because that’s what the package directions said for 4 cups of water. Make sure to check your tea and adjust if more tea bags are needed!

How to make Peach Iced Tea:

Making peach iced tea is a breeze! Just a few simple steps and you’re well on your way to your new favorite drink! Here’s a quick rundown of the process, but reference the recipe card at the bottom of the post for the full, printable recipe.

  1. Combine sugar, water, and diced peaches in a small saucepan to begin making the peach simple syrup. Once the sugar has dissolved, remove from heat and allow it to cool for about 15 minutes.
  2. Strain the syrup from the fruit using a mesh sieve to remove any large pieces of peach. Set aside the peach simple syrup or store in the fridge until you’re ready to use.
  3. Add the tea bag to a large pitcher, along with the boiling water and simple syrup. Allow the tea to steep for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the tea bags, fill the pitcher with ice and top with thinly sliced peach. Serve the peach tea in tall glass with ice cubes and sliced fresh peaches for garnish! Pro tip: If you prefer to let everyone sweeten their own drinks to taste, serve the tea and syrup separately and mix directly into the glass as preferred (I use about 2 teaspoons of syrup per glass of tea).

Make ahead & storage tips:

To make ahead: Brew the iced tea and make the simple syrup. Store them in the refrigerator, separately, until you’re ready to use. The peach simple syrup keeps fresh up to about 3 days.

Storing leftovers: Once you’ve added the ice to the pitcher of tea, you’ll probably want to serve immediately because the ice will begin to water down the tea. However, you can always mix the peach simple syrup with the tea and then just add ice to your glass before enjoying the peach tea.

Cold and refreshing, Peach Iced Tea is absolutely the BEST way to beat the heat! This refreshing tea recipe is easy to make with freshly steeped tea and homemade peach simple syrup. The ultimate summertime drink that you’ll instantly love!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Peach Simple Syrup

  • ½ cup granulated sugar*
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup diced fresh peaches

For the Tea

  • 1 black tea bag**
  • Simple syrup, from above
  • 4 cups boiling water
  • 1 peach, thinly sliced

Instructions

For the Simple Syrup

  1. Combine the sugar, water, and diced peaches in a small saucepan set over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a boil and stir to break up the peaches.
  2. Once the sugar has dissolved, remove the pan from the heat and set it aside to cool for 15 minutes.
  3. Strain the syrup through a mesh sieve to remove any large pieces of peach. Make sure to press the peaches into the sieve to extract any extra juice.
  4. Transfer the syrup to an airtight container and store in the fridge until ready to use, or up to three days.

For the Tea

  1. Add the tea bag to a large pitcher, along with the boiling water and simple syrup.
  2. Allow the tea to steep for 5 minutes. Then, remove the tea bags and stir.
  3. Fill the pitcher with ice and top with thinly sliced peach. Serve immediately.
  4. If you don’t plan on serving immediately, make the tea through step 2 and store it in the fridge. Then continue with step 3 when you’re ready to serve.
  5. If you prefer to let everyone sweeten their drinks to taste, serve the tea and syrup separately and mix directly into the glass to taste (I use about 2 teaspoons of syrup per glass of tea).

Notes

*Raw cane sugar or honey work too.

**I opted for black tea because it’s classic in most iced tea recipes– but this would also be delicious with green tea! I used 1 bag because that’s what the package directions said for 4 cups of water. Make sure to check your tea and adjust if more tea bags are needed!
