I can’t believe that this month marks an entire year of doing these income reports. Any time I manage to stick with something for an extended amount of time, I feel very proud :D So, here’s to one whole year of income reports! I plan on continuing them for 2017 and hope to bring even more knowledge and insight to them.

I have LOTS of exciting things planned for 2017 and I can’t wait to share them all with you in the coming months. First of all, I have ALL of my recipes picked out and roughly planned for the entire month of January which feels SO good. I’ve never planned an entire month in advance in the way that I have with January and I’m super stoked about it! I haven’t actually tested all of the recipes BUT knowing in advance which recipes I want to do helps a ton in the testing process.

Other big things I’m looking into for 2017 include a host switch (my current host is wonderful but I pay WAY too much for them), a possible ad network switch, AND diving even deeper into video production by learning Adobe After Affect and just generally producing MORE videos. I can’t wait!

But, more on all of that in a few weeks. Right now, lets dive into last months report!

The Traffic

Overview

capture

My traffic stayed virtually the same from October to November which I consider a pretty good win considering I did little to no promotion over the past month. Life has just found me busy and when that happens, blog promotion and social media promotion seems to be the first thing to go. When really, I think it should be the last. A lot of times this year when I’ve been really busy and I simply can’t do everything, I end up dropping the blog promotion for the sake of publishing a new post.

In 2017, I plan to do the opposite. If/ when things get busy, I’m going to be okay not publishing a new post and instead focus my limited time and energy on promoting old posts or maybe even making a video for an old post. I’ll keep you updated on how that goes.

The Income*

Some of the links below are affiliate links. All of the products and services listed are ones that I use on a regular basis and highly recommend. If you have any questions about any of these, shoot me an email.

*I’m not including any of the money that I make via my food photography and videography business.

Total: $1958.04

Expenses

  • WP Engine Hosting: $141.98
  • Food: $200- this is an estimate again this month. I’ve been doing loads of client videos and I’m having a difficult time sorting out which expenses are for clients and which are for my blog since I pay for all of them with my business account. I’ll get this sorted in the new year!
  • Props: $0
  • Adobe Lightroom/ Photoshop + Premiere: $10.91 + $19.99
  • Mailchimp Premium: $20
  • The Blog Village: $25

Total: $417.12

This is most certainly going to be the LAMEst income report that I ever post but I figure at least I’m getting it out this month, right?
